While we were very happy to finalize the release of vol. 2 of our split with Gallkrist, which went, like vol. 1, with a lot of enthusiasm and efficiency on both sides despite the distance, we are facing a difficulty that forces us to separate from one of the labels involved in this release: Bad Moon Rising.
Indeed, we realized that the Taiwanese label Bad Moon Rising, which was supposed to take care of the release of one of the version of the split tape, and which had always signed antifascist bands (not only us), has been recently signing at least two bands belonging more or less clearly to the NSBM movement, which in any case are spreading its nauseating ideological imagery and contents, so much rubbish that is incompatible with our anarchist and antifascist perspectives (we have already written about our positions on these subjects here). On the one hand we have a band whose album is called “Will to Purification” and which ends with a cover of the anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi band Satanic Warmaster, on the other hand we have a band, presented on the BMR page as being «New members of 4444 Reich». We investigated this “collective”, asked questions around about these 4444 motherfuckers, and their logo is a swastika, so is it really necessary to go further?
The brief exchanges we had with BMR, which can be read below, did not convince us of his good faith on this subject, and showed on the contrary an indifference to these questions which leaves us seriously perplexed. It is unacceptable for us to participate in the development of the NSBM scene in Asia or elsewhere and to be in contact with these bullshit bands, while we consider that it is essential to fight against them, and we will not have any tolerance with the forms of extreme right-wing militancy that infest the BM scene, nor with the soft apolitism that lets them prosper or is satisfied to be in contact with them. It is clarity in the face of racist and nationalist ideologies that we need in extreme metal today. Softness in the face of these ideas is a form of active complicity on which the extreme right in metal thrives.
This is why we have asked BMR to remove all mention of our band, which he partially refused as can be seen, with a certain awkwardness (or ridiculousness, it’s up to you), on his bandcamp page, whereas we have entirely made the layout of this record and he just released one version of the tape. The cassette version of the split Vol. 2 will not be released by BMR and the adventure continues with Trepanation Recordings and Gallkrist. We will never work with BMR again.
We call all the antifascist comrades who released records on this label to re-evaluate their collaboration with BMR, which, for us, can no longer be considered as an antifascist label, and which is not worthy of displaying the circled A that it carries as a banner on its bandcamp page. The question is serious, it requires that we are up to the task, that everyone takes his responsibilities.
